Yoga Services
Yoga in Sanskrit translates literally to “union” or “to yoke”. It is the union of mind and body. ANYONE can benefit from the practice of yoga. Yes, even you!
If you suffer from specific disabilities or injuries, its best to consult with a physician before entering any exercise or yoga practice.
Hatha
Hatha yoga or the path of effort or force is a series of physical postures, or asanas. This practice can provide both strengthening and stretching to the body and mind through a focus on pranayama or breathwork and aligned, slower controlled movements. Sessions range from 1-2 hours and can include breathwork, sun salutations, postures, relaxation, and meditation. Props provided.
Gentle
Gentle yoga is exactly what it sounds like, a gentler style of hatha yoga. It is practiced at a slower pace and is appropriate for any student. Generally, there is more time dedicated to meditation and relaxation.
Yin
Yin is a passive practice which focuses on targeting connective tissues like ligaments, joints, fascial networks, and bones. Postures are held 1-10 minutes at a time. PLENTY of props are used and provided for you.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra can be described as ‘yogic sleep’. During yoga Nidra the body is asleep, but the mind is awake and alert. It is a non-doing practice and there is no experience necessary. One hour of yoga nidra can be equivalent to four hours of sleep!
Vinyasa
Vinyasa yoga is similar to Hatha but moves with more of a flow, connecting breath to movement. Some experience is recommended but this practice can be modified for beginners who are interested in something with a faster pace.
Chair yoga
This is a form of yoga that is modified to be performed while seated or with the support of a chair. This practice is suitable for anyone who wants a gentle practice and ideal for those with physical disabilities, difficulty balancing or has trouble getting up and down from the floor.
Aqua Yoga
Aqua Yoga is practicing yoga postures in the water. It’s a low to no impact practice combining both the benefits of aquatic exercise and land yoga. This can be an amazing practice for older students, people with injuries or special conditions. You provide a pool (with a shallow end), I’ll provide all the props and instruction needed to succeed!
Our room can accommodate anywhere from 1-3 students at a time. Sessions are customized to each individual students’ particular needs.
